I am interested in the long explanation as well. Is +15% falloff really going to make minmatar ships LOL overpowered? I went back 5 pages and didn't see any falloff TC threads and eve-search is not very good.
I don't think minmatar ships are going to using a mid slot on a TC falloff mod if one was created, I mean a TD or SB or web or whatever will almost always be more useful.
Right now Curse/Arby TDs don't really hurt ACs on a Vaga enough to stop it from killing you. I fly minmatar 100% and I don't feel that threatened by TD falloff ships.

This is a point that I would like to see the counter to yet. Optimal bonus really applies to sniper boats as well. The Rohk's range bonus is considered either range or a smaller damage bonus. I assume that thread got heated and locked so it's in the pit of doom and we can't search the forums and eve-search gives me SQL database errors forever so do I skip to step 3 and profit?

Good thread so far.
I wouldn't call a TC falloff mod a "medium slot damage mod"
Does it increase dps? Sure does.......sometimes. On a 1600mm rupture boat the difference between using 3x gyros and 3x TC falloff mods are going to be pretty huge. I dunno I think a Tempest with 1 million TC falloff mods in the mid slots will still die to a megathron so meh.
So let's say we have a megathron, armageddon and maelstrom (pure short range turret boats). Enemy whatever puts 2x unbonused TDs on the above ships using the most effective scripts. Which ship ends up worse? Bonus question: would TCs or a TC falloff mod help at all?

TOTALLY agree that minmatar gun tiers need to be changed, having 5% more optimal for 5% less damage or whatever is ridiculous. I would rather the 2nd and 3nd tier autocanons get +5% falloff because fighting in falloff is so painful. I would also like emp to be fixed. I remember bringing up these issues in amarr whine fix me threads and was always told I was a noob, nice to see some people are actually looking at minmatar balance. Of course this is a off-topic issue...
Also agree that TDs should wtf pwn any turret ship, including falloff boats and lastly agree that almost no minmatar ships would fit TC falloff mods. TE falloff might be a fun mod to have.
